Community Connection of Northeast Georgia
An information and referral agency that provides a telephone hotline (211) and an online database to help people locate social service agencies which assist with basic needs including food, clothing, shelter, housing, health care, mental health, and disability services.

Family Connection – Communities in Schools
The official planning and coordinating body for services for children and families in Athens-Clarke County. Family Connection-Communities In Schools is a partnership of over 100 organizations working with families to improve outcomes for all children to succeed in school and in life.

Hands On Northeast Georgia
A volunteer center that helps individuals, families, and corporate and community groups to find flexible service opportunities at various organizations in Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties. Hands On Northeast Georgia creates, organizes, and leads meaningful service projects that positively impact the community.

ACC Department of Housing & Community Development
Strives to improve and develop viable neighborhoods by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic opportunities for low-to-moderate income families. Helps overcome barriers to full-time regular employment and encourages the establishment and growth of local businesses in order to encourage job creation.

ACTION Incorporated
An agency serving a 10-county region of northeast Georgia including Athens-Clarke County. Provides many services that lend a helping hand, including emergency food assistance and help with rent, mortgage, and energy expenses as a result of an unforeseen hardship. ACTION seeks to break the poverty cycle by offering a hands-up approach and working directly with individuals who are committed to do whatever it takes to succeed in their quest to improve their lives and get out of poverty.

Action Ministries – Athens
A faith-based organization whose mission is to mobilize Clarke County communities to address the challenges of poverty by focusing on hunger relief, housing, and education.

Advantage Behavioral Health Systems
A publicly-funded provider of behavioral health, developmental disability, and addictive disease services in a ten-county area of Northeast Georgia.

The Ark
The Ark United Ministry Outreach Center serves as an extension of the religious communities of the Athens-Clarke County area by responding to neighbors who need material and personal support. Provides financial assistance to individuals and families in crisis for basic needs such as rent, utilities and prescription medicine.

Athens Area Community Foundation
A public grantmaking foundation that partners with donors, nonprofits, and community institutions to build and distribute philanthropic assets that will enhance quality of life in the Athens area. Seeks to turn donors’ charitable goals into permanent legacies, to invest in our community through strategic grantmaking, and to lead our community to a better future.

Casa de Amistad
The mission of Casa de Amistad is to promote the well-being of the underserved Hispanic population in the Athens area through social services, educational programs, and community development.

Clarke County Division of Family and Children Services 
DFCS investigates child abuse, finds foster homes for abused and neglected children, helps out-of-work parents get back on their feet, assists with childcare costs for low income parents, and provides support services to help troubled families.

Oasis Católico Santa Rafaela
A Catholic outreach and ministry dedicated to helping the Hispanic community of Athens by providing a range of services including transportation, food, clothing, health screenings, tutoring, interpretive services, worship opportunities, and more.

Salvation Army of Athens Georgia
An evangelical Christian organization providing social services such as emergency shelter, drug/alcohol abuse rehabilitation, rent assistance, clothing and food assistance, and disaster relief services.

Sparrow’s Nest Mission
A non-profit Christian ministry that serves the at-risk population of the inner-city Athens community. Provides after-school programs, tutoring and mentoring, job counseling and placement, drug and alcohol counseling, emergency financial assistance, and more.

United Way Of Northeast Georgia
A non-profit organization which raises money to support 26 human services agencies which offer a broad mix of programs and services throughout the seven county Northeast Georgia area.

Volunteer UGA
A campus volunteer center designed to connect UGA students with the many opportunities for community service in the Athens community.
